9. AI Assistants, API, and Connectors
We publish a machine-readable API and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at /agent/v1 and /mcp so AI assistants acting on your behalf can retrieve product, pricing, and lead-time information. This section describes how data is handled when you or your assistant use them.
- What is sent: Read-only tools accept only what is needed to answer the request — a search term, a part number, a takeoff list, or a project configuration such as material, stall count, and destination state. No account, API key, or personal information is required to use them.
- Quote creation: One tool creates a real quote and therefore requires a name and email address. Using it produces a proposal record and may result in a member of our team contacting you. Your assistant should confirm this with you before calling it.
- Request logging: We log request metadata — IP address, timestamp, and the name of the tool called — to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse. These logs are retained for no longer than 90 days.
- No training use: We do not use API requests, takeoff lists, or project configurations to train machine-learning models, and we do not sell them.
- No third-party sharing: API request data is not shared with third parties except as required to operate the service (for example, our hosting and rate-limiting infrastructure) or as required by law.
- Directory listings: Where our connector is listed in a third-party AI assistant directory, that provider's own privacy policy governs your use of their assistant. We receive only the requests your assistant sends us.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
